Overview

The U.S. Polo Assn. brand is the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), the governing body of the sport of polo in the United States.

USPA partners with licensees across the world to provide consumers with branded apparel, accessories, luggage, watches, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear and home furnishings.

The products are available in more than 135 countries at independent retail stores, department stores and U.S. Polo Assn. brand stores.

This project was about making these products available online for the Latin American market.

Challenge

The e-commerce needed to be launched in a very short time frame, with a responsive design approach and a clean, clear layout.

The shipping mechanisms of the site were a special point, as it had to be possible to deliver to many countries. This meant the use of several shipping providers for different cases.

It was necessary to develop an API inventory integration with Linio (some U.S. Polo products should be published in Linio for sale), integrate with the regional payment methods, and a customized automated catalog update mechanism.

Solution

The solution was implemented with Magento Enterprise Edition, with a special focus on achieving a clear design (that should work on mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones). 

We created an automated catalog update process, based on Magmi. Linio integration was developed, using Linio's and Magento's APIs (for now, it is implemented for Linio Panama. Colombia, Mexico and Chile are coming next). 

First Atlantic Commerce was integrated as Payment Method, and Mailchimp as the Mail Marketing platform.
